Доповідач на семінарі : Alex Warren, he started teaching by going into local schools in the heart of the Indonesian jungle and offering to teach the children English. He completed his CELTA qualification in sunny Bournemouth, before completing his DELTA tw o years later. The chance of working with National Geographic Learning presented itself. With the opportunity to work with great materials and with teachers from all over the world, helping them to become the best possible teachers they could be, it was to o good an opportunity for him to turn down. Travelling to new countries throughout Europe and the Middle East, Alex has met many teachers who has enjoyed training as well as talking to and learning from and is looking forward to his first trip to Ukraine. Теми семінару : ‘Maximising Student Talk Time’ We often hear about the balance of STT vs TTT being key to success in the classroom and certainly for a student centred, communicative learning environment there needs to be a substantial amount of STT. This is all the more important given that students often have only two or three lessons a week. Therefore, it’s imperative that students get as many opportunities to speak as possible. However, maximising STT is not just maximising the amount, but also the qua lity of the STT in terms of its usefulness and productiveness. In this practical session we’ll look at what balance of STT vs TTT we should be aiming for, what constitutes quality STT and how we can achieve this using National Geographic Learning’s Outcome s. ‘A Close - up on exams – ensuring exam success’ What knowledge do students need to have and what do they need to be able to do to be a successful exam student? Is it possible to teach exam classes and exam skills in a way which both prepares students for the exam and which is still enjoyable? These are two questions which we will look to answer in this hands on session as we seek to re - evaluate how to teach exam classes and ensure our students achieve the success they want.
